The story, while a standalone affair, draws from the SG mythology and begins with the SG-1 team at the Tok'ra extraction ceremony for the last Goa'uld System Lord, Ba'al. Teal'c and Vala inexplicably vanish as the rest of the team, including Daniel, Carter and Mitchell, return through the gate to find history changed and the Stargate wiped from known existence. So we have a time travels here and messing up with the space-time-continuum. Fans of the show will be happy to see some older characters. There's a lot to like here, and while it doesn't work on the level of great cinematic science-fiction, it represents yet another exciting chapter in the Stargate mythos and is likely to be met with overall audience satisfaction.
